 . He chose to challenge Valery in a fist fight! And he suggested: put a lot of blood!I couldn't expect a better suggestion x3 And as a matter of fact I had a lot of fun putting wounds and streams here and there, bloodstains, botion blurs and thunders! Yay, finally Valery is in action in a digital drawing! I didn't even expect to finish it so soon. In these days I'm going to the beach (finally it's summer, I need some sea :3 ) and when I come back home I'm always so tired. Finishing this was a miracle xD Uhmm, particularly satisfied with the furs' muzzles. Yyyep. And now, head to the commissions I have in queue! The next one is a battlescene too! More action, woot! Also industrial backgrounds are aaaawesome. I hope Vchen will like :3 (C) FateClaw: .(C) Valery ThunderBeast: Me. (C) Art: Me. Dun worry guys, they're only having fun. Critiques
First off, there is a great juxtaposition of the more colorful Valery and the more black/white character Fateclaw, which really brings out the conflict between them. The motion blur was obviously used with great dexterity, but the perspective of the piece seemed slightly off. This feeling of the skewed perspective was likely made more noticeable by the angled background on which this work is placed. It sort of seems as if Valery is about two to five feet taller than Fateclaw.
Great work on the intensity of the eyes. This is really the main focus and best point of this artwork. For me at least it was easy to tell that the eyes really conveyed the feeling and entire mood of the fight, and that is a really hard point to get across. Eyes are definitely hard to draw, even harder to draw effectively.
Great gear/equipment and special effects with the lightning and such. One point I would like to draw attention to is the anatomy of the right arm. On first look, it seems that the right upper arm does not seem to be outlined clearly enough. It seems at a glance that the right lower arm is disembodied, floating there slightly behind the rest of Fateclaw. On closer look, once the outline is noticed, it seems as if Fateclaw has two left arms. Just something to consider...
Again, great implementation of a sound idea. Action scenes (in this case a fistfight) in still art is hard to draw and it looks absolutely astounding in Valery91Thunder's colorful style.
I (and many others I'm sure) will be waiting eagerly for the next action-style work.
